We know that tens of thousands of lives could be saved each year if those people who should be screened for colon cancer were screened. It is estimated that there are approximately 80 million people in the US over the age of 50, who require regular screening. Unfortunately, most men and women are not being screened, despite available screening tests. Few people want to take the time off work to see the doctor when they have no symptoms - but to prevent colon cancer you must see the doctor when you feel well.
