Sara A. Parr, MS, RD, LDN


We are happy to announce the addition of Registered Dietitian, Sara Parr to our staff. Sara is an experienced dietitian who will be able to better educate our patients in healthy and nutritious eating habits, especially those who suffer from digestive ailments.

Sara Parr graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in 1992. She also completed her Masters of Science degree and internship at IUP in 1993.

Sara is a member of the American Dietetic Association, the Dietetic Practice Group of Medical Nutrition Therapy and a member of the Pittsburgh Dietetic Association. She has worked in both Skilled Nursing and Long Term Acute Care Facilities. Since 1998 she has worked as an inpatient dietitian at Ohio Valley General Hospital and this year will be the dietitian for the Kid Shape Program. Sara resides in Pittsburgh with her husband and daughter.

A Registered Dietitian (RD) is a food and nutrition expert who has met the minimum academic and professional requirements to qualify for the credential There is no legal definition for the term nutritionist, so anyone can call himself or herself by that title. “Self-identified” nutritionists may have varying levels of education, and can be someone with little or no nutritional education or training.
