James Pilla, D.O.

Dr. James Pilla is from the Pittsburgh area graduating from Bethel Park Senior High School in 1985. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in zoology at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio in 1989. He received his medical degree from Des Moines University in Iowa in 1994 and then completed a one year traditional rotating internship at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Pilla then completed his residency in Internal Medicine at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 1998. From there he went on to subspecialty training at the University of Cincinnati where he completed a clinical gastroenterology fellowship in 2001.
Dr. Pilla is American Board of Internal Medicine certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American Medical Association. Dr. Pilla is an active staff member at Sewickley Valley Hospital, Ohio Valley General Hospital and Three Rivers Endoscopy Center.
Dr. Pilla's clinical interests include esophageal disorders, GERD, peptic ulcer disease, celiac sprue, diagnosis and treatment of chronic liver disease and colon cancer screening. In his spare time, he enjoys playing soccer, snowboarding and is an avid sport and music fan.
