Ernest J. Stanley, M.D.

Dr. Ernest Stanley graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland,
Canada in 1982. He also attended that university's Medical School,
graduating in 1986. A residency in Internal Medicine was then completed at
the University of Ottawa. Dr. Stanley obtained his specialty training in
Gastroenterology at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario - a center known
for its research in inflammatory bowel disease. He was Chief Resident at
McMaster from 1991-1992 and was awarded local and national scholarships
for his research regarding the effects of inflammation in diseases of the
intestines. Dr. Stanley is Board-Certified in both Internal Medicine and
Gastroenterology and distinguished himself in these exams by scoring in the
top 2% of candidates nationwide. Recently, Dr. Stanley was recertified by the American Board of Internal Medicine by passing written examinations in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Dr. Stanley is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American
Medical Association, and the Pennsylvania Medical Society. He is active on the
staff of Sewickley Valley Hospital, Ohio Valley General Hospital, and Three Rivers Endoscopy
Center. He is a participating physician in Pennsylvania Blue Shield and
Medicare. His special interests are inflammatory bowel disease and
therapeutic hepatobiliary endoscopy (ERCP) and he is certified in Advanced
Cardiac Life Support. His practice is limited to Gastroenterology. Dr. Stanley
resides in Sewickley with his wife and four children.
