Our Triage Nurses
Given the size and scope of our practice, it is not possible for our doctors to take every phone call. That is why we have two excellent nurses who triage or assess patients' needs to determine their relative priority for treatment, based on the severity of problem. They also help our patients obtain refills of ongoing prescriptions and relay messages from our doctors to our patients concerning results of routine lab work and biopsies. Our physicians confer with our Triage Nurses on a regular basis, sometimes several times a day, to review phone messages, laboratory test results, and prescription requests. The nurses then act as a liason relaying the doctor's plan to the patient. The Triage staff has been invaluable in freeing up physician time providing our doctors more time for direct patient care.
