A Unique Filing System

Most doctor's offices file their medical records in alphabetical order. This presents a problem when multiple patients have the same name and their charts are filed side by side. This can lead to confusion and errors.

To help reduce such a confusion and to further improve confidentiality, we have chosen a unique filing system. Rather than file your chart aphabetically, we have chosen to file our medical records by date of birth. That is why our staff will often ask you for your date of birth when you call the office with a question. This system helps prevent unauthorized individuals from easily accessing your records and also helps to minimize the risk of mixing up the charts of two individuals who have the same name. To further enhance security, our medical records department is locked down each evening to prevent potential prying by maintenance and cleaning staff.
