Diverticulosis of the Colon

This short video clip is a view of the inside of the colon seen during colonoscopy in a patient with diverticulosis of the colon. Normally, the inner colon wall is smooth. Here you can easily see many deep hollow pockets of diverticulosis along the inner wall of the colon. This is called diverticulosis. If a pocket becomes painfully infected, that is called diverticulitis.
