Tonya graduated Magna Cum Laude from Robert Morris University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the second degree accelerated program. She was part of the DEU program as a student and then as a postgraduate instructor. She was the Robert Morris University class of 2012 recipient of the Ambassador Award. She was nominated for the Cameo of Caring Award,’ Rookie of the Year’ and ‘Rising Star in Clinical Practice’ at UPMC.​

After spending several years in various nursing roles from medical/surgical inpatient to Endocrinology, Hospice, and Nursing education, Tonya returned for her Master of Science in Nursing at Youngstown State University. She is an AANP board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner in Ohio and Pennsylvania with experience in Urgent Care prior to her arrival at CDHN. She also holds an FMSCA DOT medical examiner certification and is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology.

Tonya lives in Beaver with her husband. She enjoys traveling, especially to see one of her three adult children, history and art, and weightlifting.
